Refund & Cancellation Policy — The Day After Vault

  

This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for purchases made directly on thedayaftervault.com for The Day After Vault.

We want this to be clear and fair. If anything, here is unclear, please contact support@thedayaftervault.com before canceling or disputing a charge.

1) Who this applies to

  • Purchases made directly on thedataaftervault.com with a debit/credit card or other methods we offer at checkout.
  • This policy does not cover purchases made through third‑party marketplaces or resellers; those merchants’ policies apply.
  • Business accounts may have separate contractual terms that control over this policy.

2) Summary of refund windows

  • Monthly plans: Full refund within 14 days of each charge (initial purchase or renewal).
  • Annual plans: Full refund within 30 days of the initial purchase; 14 days for annual renewals.
  • Add‑ons or one‑time fees: Refundable within 14 days of purchase unless otherwise stated at checkout.

3) Cancellations (stop future charges)

  • You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals.
  • After canceling, your premium features remain available until the end of the current paid period, unless you also request an immediate refund.
  • Canceling does not automatically delete your vault. You may delete your account and encrypted content at any time from settings.

4) Refund eligibility and limits

  •   From your account: go to Billing → View Invoices → select the charge → Request Refund (where available).
  • Or email support@thedayaftervault.com with: account email, invoice/charge ID, purchase date, and reason. Please don’t send any passwords or sensitive vault content.
  • We’ll confirm eligibility and reply with the outcome.

5) How to request a refund

  • From your account: go to Billing → View Invoices → select the charge → Request Refund (where available).
  • Or email support@thedayaftervault.com with: account email, invoice/charge ID, purchase date, and reason. Please don’t send any passwords or sensitive vault content.
  • We’ll confirm eligibility and reply with the outcome.

6) Processing time

  • Approved refunds are submitted promptly; your bank may take 5–10 business days to post the credit.
  • If your card has expired or the bank rejects the refund, we’ll work with you on an alternative method where permitted.

7) Upgrades, downgrades, and credits

  • When you upgrade, we apply a pro‑rated credit for any unused time on your current plan where our billing system supports it.
  • When you downgrade, the lower price takes effect at your next renewal; no retroactive credit is issued unless required by law.

8) Chargebacks

  • Please contact us first. Many disputes are simple billing misunderstandings we can fix quickly.
  • Filing a charge-back before contacting support may delay resolution and can impact service availability while the bank investigates.

9) Exceptions we cannot refund

  • Fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Fees paid to third parties (e.g., taxes, duties, or payment‑processor fees) where these are non‑refundable by the third party.
  • Promotional, beta, early‑access, or gift‑code redemption's where the promotion states “non‑refundable.”

10) Access to your vault after cancellation or refund

  • If you cancel without requesting a refund, you keep premium access until the period ends, then your account reverts to the free tier (if available).
  • If you receive a refund, premium access ends immediately. You can still sign in to export or delete your encrypted data unless you request account deletion.
  • To delete your account and encrypted vault, use Settings → Delete Account. We delete encryption keys as described in our Privacy Policy.

11) Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or our service. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where material, notify affected customers.
